Heritage Days Contiues

This morning we attended church in the "Old Sackrider Church." It was falling apart out in the country and was moved into town where it has been restored for the historical district. A former pastor, Guy Rayle, delivered the message. He also sang a special.

The offering was taken in an original basket with a handle. The piano and pulpit are also the originals. Some were found in garage sales and returned to the historical society. The service opened with Bob Mudget, representing the Boy Scouts of America, telling the story behind the song of "God Bless America" and then the congregation singing it. It truly was a wonderful service.

Following the service a pig roast was served. The food was very good!! We visited with a few people and headed home.
