Dave and Ginny Arrive in Hart

Yesterday's big story would be the rain storm. Not the typical storm like we are used to in Oregon. I had estimated that we had between 1 and 2 inches in half an hour, and the evening news stated that Muskegon, which is about 25 miles south of us had 2.7 inches. Thinking back to when Barb was a child in Minnesota and would have warm rains and sandy "mud puddles" in their driveway when the sun came out after the storm, she had to play in it again for old times sake! Yup, the puddles are warm, but no one to come play with her. Where is her brother Steve when she needs him? Oh yah, WORKING!



The two seed cleaner at the cannery had to be rebuilt this year, so they were combined into just one unit with two polishers on it. The shop next door to us was doing the work, and since it was ready to take back to the cannery, they loaded it onto our truck and I delivered it in the late afternoon.

Shortly after I left for the cannery, Dave and Ginny Harding arrived with their 5th wheel trailer, and pretty much had it set up by the time I got back. This will be their first year working as seed dryers. We met them about 3 years ago while parked in Pahrump, NV. They will be continuing on to see relatives in PA and be back before we start drying seeds next week.
